We were able to visit International House of Prayer (IHOP), a 24/7 prayer and ministry training center in Kansas City this week. It was pretty interesting to see what they had going and were encouraged by the spiritual hunger in young people’s lives. If any of you are ever in Kansas City, you have to check it out. The prayer room is open 24 hours a day and has different worship teams who operate in shifts. there must have been close to 75 different people praying in one of the prayer room at 12:30 on a Friday afternoon when we visited.
Here are a couple pictures. ..they basically converted an old gracery store and have a 24/7 prayer center, bookstore, and cafe. all the bookstore sales go to support missions. Quite an interesting place to say the least; down the road, they have their school of ministry which relies heavily on training students in prayer, intercession, and the prophetic. (Definitely, no the typical heady theological training institution)
In other news, we got held up in an ice storm today. It took us 7 or 8 hrs to drive from Des Moines to Dubuque, a trip that should have taken 3 hrs or less. We were trying to get to Fond do Lac, WI but will have to postpone that. We’d gone 3 months with no real issues due to weather so we’re thankful that this was the first one. I think I need to move back to Rota. . .it’s too cold out there!!!
